Show COMPLETING PLANS FOB PATRIOTIC MEETING Plans were made last night at the me, .iriL- of ihe County Council f Defense De-fense for the big patriotic mass meeting meet-ing to he held in ogden tabernacle next Saturday evening, to commemorate commemo-rate the entry of the Cnited States into the war and the opening of the third Liberty loan campaign The mass meeting will commence at 8 o'clock. On Ihe program as speakers speak-ers will be Rev P A. simpkln of Salt Lake. Apostle D. O McKay. John W. Murphy. Jrmos Plngree and W H. Wattis, Efforts will be made to get a speaker from California. A musical program has been arranged, Including selections by the Ogden Tabernacle' choir, the Southern Pacific Glee club, the Southern Pacific band and the Btate Industrial school band. Chairman E. The State Industrial school band Will parade the streets Saturday after- noon, commencing at 4 o'clock. Tho, Southern Pacific band will meet at the city hall with employes of the railroad rail-road and others who will lake pari in the parade and lead the march from there to the tabernacle. Mrs H H. Spencer, chairman of the Women's Liberty loan committee of Weber county, announced that there will be a mass meeting of all women of the eommitiee. Thursday afternoon. "Be it resolved by the Weber County Coun-ty Council of Defense that it ap-1 pro es and urges the completion of the bard -surfaced state highway be-tl be-tl een Ogden and Salt Iake as a necessary war measure, that the council urges upon ,the state road commissioners com-missioners or other state authorities so empowered to proceed at once with funds now available and already appropriated ap-propriated by the state legislature with the completion of this highway in time for the movement of this year's crops." |
