Show LARGE UND SEES' MOVIE STARS 111 IDE DEPOT Mary Piekford. Charles Chaplin and Douglas Fairbanks, three of the big- I gest stars in filmdom, visited Ogden yesterday afternoon for a short time j in the interests of the third Liberty loan drive. Their message war.. "Get ready for the drive and dig into your pockets when it comes, for it will be the hardest of them all to put over." The three stars are on their way to Washington, where they will eonfer with Secretary McAdoo concerning the itineraries of the trip.; which they are to take in aiding to sell Liberty bonus. Chaplin is to tour the south, Miss Piekford the east and New England states, and Fairbanks ihe middle west. They announced that William S. Hart will be In Ogden about April 15 and will remain some time and give a good speech. The three arrived an hour late. They stepped off their train onto a baggage truck and were wheeled around to the front of the station where a vast crowd had assembled, despite the snow. Fairbanks was the only cne of ihe trio who spoke and he gave a short talk full of his customary enthusiasm. He said he had several novel stunts to use in selling bonds and believed he could handle a good many. nn |
