Red Hill Wranglers win trophies at Hurricane meet The Red Hill Wranglers, lo-ral lo-ral riding' club, returned home from the District riding club meet, held in Hurricane last Saturday, with their full share of trophies, according to Mrs. Norman Evans. She states that the two Parowan teams which participated in the competition won a total of 27 trophies and 40 ribbons. Members of the Parowan teams were Dick Tullis, Larry Tullis, Woodrow Watson, Norman Nor-man Evans, Vyonne Chamberlain, Cham-berlain, K Chamberlain, Roy Whitlock, Gail Bentley, Ruth Jenson and Ellis Bryant. Vyonne Chamberlain placed plac-ed first in the ladies' pleasure pleas-ure class and K Chamberlain placed first in the men's pleasure plea-sure class. Mrs. Chamberlain also took the trophy for first in the ladies' barrel race with Ruth Jensin taking second in that event. Woodrow Watson placed 1st in the single pole bending, with Norman Evans taking second. Mr. Evans and Mrs. Jenson placed . second in the ribbon pull and also took a Team roping event, second place in ' the Dally Parowan teams also won first placed in the Pony Express Ex-press race; first and second in the barrel race; first and second in the pole bending, and first and fourth in the water race. They got third in the pairs pleasure, second in the potato race, second and third in the keyhole race, fourth in the calf roping (Dick Tullis); and first places in the parade class, arena drill, and in the -mile race (Mrs. Chamberlain's horse "Poco"). All of the team members are now qualified' to enter the riding club competition, in the Regional meet which will be held in Richfield in August. |
