Douglas Manning gives Cedar Stake girls a good lec-tui'o lec-tui'o in map reading and the use of a compus. These young ladies seem to be taking it all in. The activity was held Saturday at SUSC ranch. Cedar Stake YWMIA holds Day Camp dough biscuits, and reflector oven berry pics made even the most rigorous dieter forget the calories. A hike at the summit of the mountain on the Bristle Cone Pine trail, guided by a representative repre-sentative of the Forest Service, Ser-vice, was another highlight of the camp. The day was climaxed with charcoal broiled steaks under the supervision of the Tenth Ward. There were approximately 90 participants at the Day Camp, Day Camp, for the Cedar Stake YWM1A was held Saturday, Satur-day, June 13 under the direction direc-tion of Mrs. Glen Ostler, Activity Activ-ity Counselor. The camp is a preliminary activity prior to the regular Girls' Camp which will bo held in July.. The day began with a flag raising ceremony at the Wood's Ranch Pavilion at 9:00 a. m. The girls then separated into groups for camperaft instruction. in-struction. Demonstrations and instructions were presented by Ward leaders In areas of hiking, hik-ing, fire, camp equipment, knots, lashing, camp cookery, campfire programs (including ceremonies, songs and stunts), and drama in camp. The girls demonstrated some of their skills by preparing their own lunch over an open fire. Douglas Manning, Cedar Stake Scout leader, delighted the girls with his culinary arts.
