Show Parowan City making preparations for proper observance of Independence Day day party. Everyone is especially espec-ially urged to prepare an entry en-try for the parade. Businesses clubs, church groups, neighborhood neigh-borhood groups and individuals individ-uals are invited to buile floats. Theme of the parade will be "The American Scene" Prizes of $25, $15 and $10 will I we awarded to prize winning parade entries. I There will also be a Junior Division of the parade for all youngsters under 12 years ol I age. Decorate your bike, trike, buggy, car, wagon, or come costumed. Prizes in the junior division will be $5, $3 and $2 for winners. THE COMMITTEE Once again it is time foi the citizens of the good old U. S. A. to polish up their patriotic pa-triotic pride and put it on display dis-play lor everyone to set-. Saturday, the fourth day of July is our country's 191th birthday and the Parowan City officials and the committee com-mittee members working with them, are making plans for a full day of activity which will bo appropriate for this day. The traditional daybreak salute will rouse everyone and set the mood for the day. The parade will begin at 9:30 a. m. and will be followed by sports, games and concessions on the city park. At 11:30 a public meeting under the direction di-rection of the American Legion, Leg-ion, Post 20 will be held in the Third Ward chapel. For afternoon entertainment the Red Hill Wranglers will sponsor one of their famous race meets at the city track, beginning at 2:30 p. m.. In the evening the city will sponsor a fireworks display, and the evening will conclude with a dance. Eveiyone is encouraged to come out and take part and make this a really great birth- |
