Show Science teachers from Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado visit Cedar area wore housed in community apartments and served in local lo-cal cufes through arrangements arrange-ments made through Southern Utah State College Housing anj Food Service. The accommodations accom-modations were provided to enable the program to go forward for-ward dcsp'to the maximum use of campus facilities by Girls' State delegates. Local instructors and coordinators coor-dinators for the program were Professors Laurence C. Cooper and Clair Maxiield. Prof. Cooper said that the project will be repeated in 1971 with central headquarters headquart-ers In Secoro, N.M. Four bus loads of earth science teachers from New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, and the northern Utah area spent the week of June 8 to June 14 In the Cedar City area and enroute studying earth formations. Accompanied by two profes-sional profes-sional geologists to each bus, the traveling investigators had an opportunity to view some of the world's most unique un-ique and outstanding scenic areas and gather geology specimens and data for presentation pre-sentation to students. The teachers are all from junior and senior high schools. While In. Cedar City, the 130 instructors visited the St. George, Milford Mineral Range, and areas east and west of Cedar City itself. They |
