Show Iron County Men Called To Serve In 301st Regiment Iron County men who had enlisted en-listed in the 301st Ordinance RegU nient for service overseas were called call-ed to service Monday. After spending spend-ing a short period in North Caro-l Caro-l na undergoing intensive tralnltv;, they will leave for an undisclosed overseas station. The Iron County men who have answered the call were, Keith and Lloyd Higbee, Vernon H. Willis, Francis Betensen, Corry Parry, Nelson Nel-son Bulloch, and Wayne Stewart of Cedar City and Bernard B. Subbs of Parowan. ' Other men from Iron County who have enlisted and have left for service or will leave in the near future, Include the following: Milt Sevy, who has entered training train-ing as an Aviation Cadet at Santa Anna, California. Dick Leigh and Max Lunt, wno have enlisted as Aviation Cadets, und who will leave to enter training train-ing on May 23. Irving Poley Past, a California registrant in Iron County; DeVere Wood of Parowan, and Halbert Thomas of Lund, who have Joined the Navy. Edward Harold Peterson of Cedar Ce-dar City who has enlisted in the Coast Guard. Edwin L. Peterson, a reserve officer, of-ficer, who has been called to duty In Texas. Ralph Browning Plait of Kanarra Kanar-ra has been accepted as an Aviation Avia-tion Cadet, but has not yet received receiv-ed his call to service. Wourth Wood, a reservist, Who has been recalled to duty, will report re-port at Salt Lake City on May 1. |
