Show District Nursing Council To Recruit Student Nurses Students of schools In six southern south-ern Utah counties will be contacted in the near future by members of the southern district nursing council coun-cil on defense, to get recruits for student nurses to fill the growing demand for trained nurses in the United States. Because of the great demand In the armed forces for nurses, the United States is in need of 50,000 student nurses to enter nursing schools, annually. The demands of the army and navy, public health and the Indian Service will require 31,000 additional addition-al nurses this year, which will have to be drawn from the students graduating from nursing schools and civilian nurses this year. To compensate for the increasing demands for nurses, nursing schools and hospitals are making their courses unusually attractive to attract at-tract more graduates of high schools with high scholastic records. College Col-lege credit Is offered, with the student stu-dent attending Universities for two quarters preparatory to entering the hospital for actual work. Credit received while attending the schools for nurses can be applied toward Bachelors degrees. In order that students may know which hospital schools of nursing offer courses with the college training train-ing they should write to the hospital hos-pital they wish to enter for information infor-mation or contact Mrs. Glen Froyd Mrs. Emma Rossen or Mrs. Arthui Gardner of Cedar City. |
