Show Miss Rodeo Iron County Contest Miss Rodeo Iron County will be selected in competition June 25 at the Parowan Library Lounge and at the fairgrounds rodeo arena. Competition will be held in a princess and queen division. Girls seeking the princess title must be between 13 and 17 years old inclusive. Queen candidates must be between 18 and 24 inclusive. Three sections of competition will, be held: poise, personality, and horsemanship. hor-semanship. The poise and personality sections will start at 4 p. m. in the library lounge. Horsemanship competition will start immediately after the completion of the other two sections "around 6 or 6:30 p.m.," according to Vyonne Chamberlain, queen contest committee member. "We would like any interested ladies to start application procedures as soon as possible," Chamberlain said. "Anyone interested may contact either Jean Berry, 43 South 200 West, Cedar City, or Mrs. Chamberlain, 187 East 100 South, Parowan." Early entry will allow the committee to send necessary information to entrants ina special competition packet. There is no entry fee for the competition. A cash prize of $150 will be awarded the Miss Rodeo Iron County. Other cash prizes will be awarded, according to Chamberlain. To be eligible, an entrant must have been a resident of Iron County for at least six months. She should also be available during the summer months to represent the county in appearances throughout the area. "Miss Rodeo Iron County will be our representative at fairs, rodeos, and other celebrations in as many cities as possible," Art Walunas, chairman of the Iron County Fair Board indicates. "She will also compete for the Miss Rodeo Utah title during the July 24 celebration in Salt Lake City," he said.
