Show Senator Lenroot Declares Nominee Should Represent Liberal Wing SUPERIOR. Wis., June 16. Expressing Ex-pressing regret at the nomination of Senator Harding by the Republican convention, Senator Lenroot, of Wisconsin, Wis-consin, in a statement here Tuesday, declared ho would be "among the first to join a new political party," if, when elected, President Harding should adopt reactionary policies and "be controlled by the old guard." "I frankly regret the choice of the Republican convention a.s I believe a man who had allied with the liberal lib-eral wing of the party should have been selected," said Senator Lenroot. Len-root. "However, Senator Harding is a rno3t lovable man of the McKinlcy type, and makes friends easily. "There is dissatisfaction upon the part of Progressives but they must cnoose between supporting tne Republican Re-publican ticket and having another Vi four years of Democratic rule and all that it implies.
