Mr. and Mrs. F. G. Miles have the sympathy of the community in the death of their six-weeks-old twin-boy, which occured last Monday morning from pneumonia. The other twin was quite ill, but is now recovering, A preacher recently advertised that he would discuss a family scandal from his pulpit, and as a result the church was crowded long before time for the services. The Examiner of San Francisco, in further commenting on the presence in Utah of Southern Pacific surveyors, has the following: "Recently an order was let by the company in the East for 44.000 tons of steel rails. Delivery of these rails is to commence immediately. This tonage is sufficient to build about 430 miles of road. The company has no use for this large quantity of rails in California or any place west of El Paso and Ogden at present.
