Show r- m ' - s MESQUITE, XEVADAi The health of the people here is excellent. ex-cellent. Fine weather. Everybody making preparations for getting in their crops. The way the boys are grubbing and burning brush looks as if they meant business. Brother Johnson is cleaning a new piece of ground, which he has just enclosed with a four-wire fence, and expects to raise a crop of wheat on it this season. Three or four Bunkerville people are taking out water on to a nice bottom near Nephi Johnson's place. There is plenty of water and enough nice land for from twenty-five to forty families, and it's only a matter of time when it will be taken up. Will Hughes met with a gun accident the other day. Hn was putting a cartridge cart-ridge into an old 4.3-00 when it exploded; explod-ed; a piece of the shell passed through hislip, knocked out two of his teefch (Uld lodged in the roof o? his mouth, inllieting a nasty wound and rendering him unconscious for some minutes. When he picked himself up, he found the old gun blown to pieces and his game (a rabbit) gone. |
