Show OUR CORKESPOXDExXTS. m m 1'IXE VALLEY. N. D. Forsyth of Pinto was a visitor here last week. An army of conquest would find our little town practically deserted except by the women and children. Wednesday, the 18th inst., the wife of John A. Gardner, who is at present laboring as a missionary in the state of Pennsylvania gave birth to a fine boy. The mother and child are doing nicely. The majority of our men has gone to DeLamar to spend the winter hauling wood, or performing any other work that promises remuneration. Most of the minority are on the range looking after the interests of their cattle. S. A. Gardner, while chasing some horses through the field the other day, met with, quite an accident. His horse fell on him, spraining his ankle and bruising his foot badly. He suffered suf-fered considerable pain the night following fol-lowing the accident, but he thinks he will be around again in a few days. The late snowfall of about one foot has been followed by beautiful spring weather. While we appreciate the pleasantness of the situation, we realize real-ize that present convenience will be paid for in future disaster In view of the necessities of the case, I think a good, old-fashioned Pine Valley snow storm, covering- up fences, etc., would be acceptable now. Just as I am going to mail a serious accident has happened. Jeter Gardner was riding very fast through town when his horse slipped and fell, throwing throw-ing him violently forward onto the frozen ground, bruising his face very badly and giving him quite a shaking up in general. His upper lip is crushed crush-ed and mutilated and one ankle and knee are slightly sprained. It is not thought the unfortunate boy will sustain sus-tain any very serious injuries. However, How-ever, he wifl be laid up for several weeks. |
