The ajcial given last week under the auspices of the ladies of the Altar society so-ciety of St. Leo's church, was an unqualified un-qualified succeas in every particular. The evening was very pleasantly spent in games' and other social enjoyments. enjoy-ments. A very elegant lunch was served. This will be the last social given by theise ladies until the coming com-ing of another social season. On Easter Sunday, Rev. Father Vermaat presented each of his Sunday Sun-day school children with a beautiful present, which was much appreciated by the young ones. On Wednesday evening. April 18, there was a largely attended meeting of the Catholic men of Fergus county at the parochial residence, with the view of organizing a local lodge of the Catholic Order of Foresters. The objects ob-jects of the order are to promote friendship, sobriety and true Christian charity. Mr. O'Leary of Great Falls, chief ranger of the order, was the principal prin-cipal speaker. The citizens of Lewistown and Fergus Fer-gus county are planning to erect a $3,000 monument to the poldiers who lost their lives in the Philippine war. The marble shaft is to be twenty-five feet in height and will be one of the I finest memorials in the country. |
