Show FRIENDSHIP. (Martha Shepard Lippincott in the Pilot.) To meet each other soul to soul. And read the feelings of each heart, And know a deep felt sympathy That ne'er will let your spirits part; This is dear friendship's truest test; When friends are far or friends are nigh, It stands unmoved by all around. And strengthens as the years pass by. Heart speaks to heart and eye to eye, We mutual understanding feel. And know that every thought and act Tells of a love so true -nd real. We learn to read each other's thoughts And sympathy we feel with them. And when such friendship we secure, 'Tis like a long sought, priceless gem. True friendship ever loves to serve And help the ones we love so well. Not half the joy such friendship brings The human tongue can ever tell; Life sweeter grows each passing day, I For some one understands us now. And friends so faithful and so true Keep care's deep furrows from the brow. |
