Show HOUSEHOLD HINTS. A New Dessert. Here is a new dessert, the constant longing of all housekeepers. Put half a box of gelatine to soak in a teacupful of cold water. Take half a can of peaches, drain the fruit, and measure the juice, adding to it enough boiling water to make a pint of liquid altogether; alto-gether; stir this into the soaked gelatine. gela-tine. All to this half cup of sugar, a tiny pinch of salt, the juice of one lemon; strain, and set away to cool. Cut the peaches Into strips, and line a mould with them. When the jelly begins to harden pour it into the mould, and set it away on the ice. Serve when perfectly hard and cold with whipped cream, flavored very delicately del-icately with almond. |
