Dear Sir At mai on. last Sunday our dear Father Cushnahan, in the coarse of his remarks, took occasion to admonish the Catholics of Ogden of the neccffiity of supplying the ho-rnea of all with clean and sound Catholic reading, read-ing, and showed what great good can and is being done through yuch means, and took great pains in showing h:3 hearera why they should subscribe and help maintain to the best of their abil- ity the newly launched Catholic paper" of Salt Lake, saying that tho, proprietors propri-etors expect (and they have the right to expect) the best and faithful support sup-port of the people of this mountain region to the enid that the papco- may ba the meam of doing more good (if Euch is possible) than in the past, and a!so that it may be a blssing. bct.h to the gentlemen who eave the naoer its financial standing and to all people who support it, taking occasion to remind i hiy hearers that the gentlemen behind I the paper are not doing it for the money to be made by its publication, j but assured them, from a more lofty j and holier cause, telling his congrega- i tion in a very feeling and with a grate- ' ful heart of tho splendid donation from j the name gentleman to the r.-ew St. Jo- ! e-eph church oiow being built in Ogden, j and to say. that the people were greatly j pleased i:j puttlr.'g it mildly, and a:3 ! one who was present when the kindly act was done, assure the gentlemen and Intermountain Catholic that in the future as in the past, the people of Ogden will give their hearty and loyal support, hoping the Catholics of this mountain country will awake to itn j grand and noble work, that they can 1 have a share of help doing for God and !
