Show association 0 L sheeley of the salt lake fire department was in eureka last tuesday evening and met wilh the mc members abers of the local department the object of his visit was to in terest the local firemen in the organization of a state association on for both paid and volunteer firemen he pointed out many benefits that would accuro to the associations a members by organizing and stated that amongst other things the as so clation would endeavor to have a bill enacted in the next session of the state legislature si millar to a law al at ready on the statute book of the state of kansas to have the state set aside one and one half percent of the pro pre charged on all fire insurance written as a benefit fund for firemen throughout the state who may be killed or disabled in the discharge of their duty this fund will be distri buted among the towns or cities hav bay ing fire departments according to the amount ot of insurance written in each place quite a large number of the mem bers of the local department were present and mr sheely was given a hearty reception refreshments were served before the men separated for the night the eureka fire department has de c eded to 0 send three members to the meeting to be held at salt lake on september and |
