the coal situation the reporter has it from pretty coq good d authority on such matters rinat that there is almost sure to be a coal shortage during the coming winter there are several reasons why we are lead to believe that there is some truth in the report in the first place the mines and smelters will be de manding I 1 more coal than they were a year ago and then in the second place there is less coal being stored this year there may not be a scarcity of coal but when the railroads have all their cars in use they are liable to neglect the coal business aa as they did two winters ago those who can do so should lay in their winter s supply of coal before the cold weather starts
