Show LAPOiriT Mrs. Mabel Jenkins Ward Gold-Green Ball Held Feb. 14 The Gold and Green Ball was held Tuesday evening, February 14, at the Ward chapel. The theme was "Deep Purple." The' hall was decorated with purple crepe paper and silveT stars with paper flowers all around the' hall. The floor show started at 10 o'clock. The stake' board' officers and stake board MIA dance directors, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Hacking, were present. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Wool-ley Wool-ley are the dance directors of the Lapoint Ward.. Music was by Tal Wardle of Neola. Doughnuts and punch were served by the MIA officers to a large crowd. Keith Horrocks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Horrocks, was chosen one of the five all-star basketball players on the first team in the Jr. M Men tournament, held at Union High School recently. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Horrocks and Mable Jenkins were Vernal visiors on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Rasmussen and daughter, Louise RaNae, attended at-tended the farewell program at Ashley ward chapel Sunday evening eve-ning for Clifton Merkley, who will leave shortly to fill a mission for the LDS church in the Great Lakes Mission. . Mr. and Mrs. Rile Blackburn spent last weekend with Mr., and Mrs. Deloss Searles of Ouray. Mr. and Mrs. Trave Neilson have mpved in their new addition, built on to their house. Mr, and Mrs. Charley Bigelow were guests qf Mr. and Mrs. Roy Taylor of Bridgeland last Sunday. Mrs. Mary Jarrell returned home Thursday from Fontana, Calif., where she had been visiting with her children, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Jarrell and family, and Mr. and Mrs. James Marshall and family for the past seven weeks. Mr. and Mrs, Gilbert Anderson were Roosevelt visitors Friday. Alice Jenkins, of Provo, spent Saturday with her grandmother, Mrs. Annie Davis of Roosevelt. Mrs. Dorothy Luck of Neola visited vis-ited Mrs. Dawn Huber Thursday. John Wilson and daughter of Tridell visited his sister, Mrs. Sarah Norton Thursday. The BYU students who spent the weekend with home folks were Darris Rasmussen, Larry Huber, Alice Jenkins, all of Lapoint, and Neal Domgaard of Gusher. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Workman and daughters, Nancy Jane and Janet, of Myton were Sunday dinner din-ner guests of Mrs.. Workman's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jenkins, Jen-kins, and they attended Sunday school. Mr. and Mrs. George Nyberg are proud grandparents of a grandchild, grand-child, born to Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Hoops at the Roosevelt LDS Hospital. The little tike' has three sisters at home. HOMEBUILDERS CLASS ENTERTAINS DADS The Homebuliders groups of the Lapoint Primary and their teachers, teach-ers, Ruby Justice, Ardith Huber and Elizabeth Harrison, had a party, "A Date with Dad," at the Lapoint chapel Wednesday evening.. eve-ning.. A program was presented by the girls, and bunco was prayed by those present. Lunch was served to 47 people'. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Olsen of Vernal were in attendance. Neldon Nyberg of Roosevelt visited vis-ited his mother, Barbara Nyberg, Thursday. Mr. and Mrs.. Lyl'e' Perry and family of Dragerton spent the weekend with her parents, Mr, and Mrs. George Bigelow. Mr. and Mrs, Elroy Wilkins and children of Roosevelt were guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charley Bigelow, Friday. The occasion oc-casion was Mrs. Bigelow's birthday. |
