Show s4trcciclia By Mrs. Merle Ross Two Wards Join In Gold-Green Ball Arcadia and Bridgeland held their Gold and Green Ball together togeth-er again this year with Bridgeland hosting the occasion. The theme was "Melody of Love." The hall was very beautifully decorated with red hearts on white streamers stream-ers forming the ceiling, a program was given and both wards danced in the floor show. Refreshments were served to a large crowd. Many of those attending at-tending came from other wards. Grant Peel's orchestra from Altamont Alta-mont furnished the music. Mr. and Mrs. R. S. "Lusty attended at-tended the funeral services of her aunt, Mrs. H. G. Cook, at Heber City, Wednesday. Mrs. Duatha Olsen and children visited her grandson, Kim Olsen, Monday. Pres. and Mrs. Hale Holgate returned home Sunday. He has spent the last week in Sacramento, Sacramen-to, Calif., attending a weed and seed convention- and she spent the week visiting in Salt Lake City. John Gilbert made a business trip to Salt Lake this week. Rul'on Skinner of Roosevelt and Ruth Walters of Bridgeland were Sunday callers at the home of Pres. and Mrs. Hale Holgate. Lynn Ross and Fred Evans attended at-tended a birthday party , for Billy Dye at his home in Neola Wednesday. Wednes-day. Both boys were overnight guests. Marva Mae 'Horrocks is working work-ing part time at the First Security Bank in Roosevelt. Ida Unca Sam has returned from the Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake, where she has been taking treatments for the last ten days. Merle Ross spent the weekend in Salt Lake City attending to business bus-iness and visiting at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Gwen Bodily. Mr. and Mrs, Ward Evans of Vernal visited at the home of their son, Chad, Monday. Everyone is invited to attend the Rose Prom in Duchesne Saturday Satur-day night. Scott Lusty joined those attending attend-ing the Temple excursion to the Salt Lake Temple, Saturday. Rulon Gilbert attended an FHA meeting in Salt Lake Saturday. He was accompanied by his mother, Mrs. Thomas Gilbert, and sister, Martha, who visited at the Max Mullins' home. Mrs. Milton Poulson of Duchesne Du-chesne took her mother, Mrs. Milt Larsen to Roosevelt Saturday, where they visited at the Ray Scholes home. Mr. and Mrs. Porter Merrell visited at the home of their daugh ter and son-in-law, Mr, and Mrs. Jack Gilbert. ' Most all of the farmers from here attended an " Indian Water Users meeting held at Mt. Emmons Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Milt Larsen, Gale and Carol Larsen and Gary Thompson attended the basketball game of Union vs Duchesne at Duchesne. Mrs. Ehel Taylor of pridgeland helped Mrs. Stanley Ross quilt on Monday. Mrs. Grace Larsen, a 4-H Club leader, left Monday with Mary Lois Reichert. for Logan, where they will attend a Leaders' Training Train-ing school. Mr. and Mrs, Elden Thompson went to Salt Lake Saturday,- to get their daughter, Mrs. Ruth Campbell, who has been visiting at the home of her sister, Mrs. Flora Gagon. Donna and Lynn Ross, Gary Thompson and Gale Larsen attended attend-ed the Roosevelt - Altamont game at Roosevelt Friday night. Mrs. Clarence Horrocks, Marva Mae and Evan accompanied La-von La-von Horrocks to Verna! Saturday, where they visited her mother, Mrs. Elsie Dean Workman. Irvin Johnson, Milt Larsen and Stanley Ross attended a Democratic Demo-cratic rally in Duchesne, Saturday. The meeting was called for the purpose of electing officers. SIX INCH SNOW STORM Told you last week we still had winter days ahead They ma-teralized ma-teralized Wednesday, when we had a new six-inch snow storm. Some wind came along to remind us of what could happen. However the drifts weren't too bad this time, ( Mr. and Mrs. Francis Ross of Myton were dinner guests at their parents' Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Ross. They also visited at the Max Ross home, just to keep in touch with the twins' development. PRESENTS PROGRAM The Primary gave the program in Sacrament meeting Sunday evening. eve-ning. Mrs. Lois Stansfield and daughter, Donna from Bridgeland were in attendance. Donna gave a very interesting talk on her experiences ex-periences in the Primary Children's Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Ivie and Forrest For-rest Ivie from Starwberry were Sunday night visitors at church. NEIGHBOR DIES The Bill Tanners were saddened by a telephone call from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Saturday evening, telling them of the death of Edith Cheney, one of their old-time friends and neighbors. The Tanners said, "she was one of those honest, generous, thoughtful persons that it was a joy to know and hard to leave behind when they moved here." However, they have found many people here in their new location that remind them of her. Guess we usually find what we look for in people or places. |
