Show PRESENT ASSEMBLY Mr. Wm. Evans' 8th grade presented pre-sented an assembly Friday for the' Altamont student body, which began be-gan with a nonsense debate on: "Resolved that Clubs are a Menace to Civilization." Followrng the debate, de-bate, five school clubs presented numbers with Dee Clark as master of ceremonies. There was a tumbling demonstration by the Athletic Club, a reading on George Washington and the Preamble to the Constitution by the Speech class; and a demonstration in painting up faces by the Art Club. The Dancing Club presented the folk dances, Ting-a-Ling and Pop Goes the Weasel Karen Hansen and Marilyn Young did a Hawaiian Hawai-ian dance in costume, also. Numbers Num-bers from the Music Club included a quartet of horns, a girls' vocal quartet, and a harmonica solo by Barbara Bird. A few of the local members of the Moon Lake Electric Association Associa-tion were called into a meeting Wednesday to discuss several matters mat-ters with Manager Ron Harrison, William Fieldsted and Mr. Hart of the REA staff. Newly elected board member, Marian Ross, from Arcana, Ar-cana, was also present. ML Emmons Gleaners met on Thuisday in the home of Alma Youno for the lesson, "Youth of the Noble' Birthright," by Mrs. Miles. Following the meeting, the hoEtess served chili and hot rolls. |
