Show Redmen in a "Must" situation; face Spanish Fork on Friday Action is getting thick in the race for the State Playoffs in Region Six and . the Cedar City High School Hodmen, on the heels of a loss to previously winless l'ayson faces an uphill task to make the state classic. Here's the standings after last week's action: Provo 12 0 American Fork 11 l Dixie 7 4 Pleasant Grove 5 7 Spanish Fork 4 7 Springville 4 7 Timpview 4 7 Cedar City 4 8 Payson 1 11 In last Friday's action the Redmen lost to Payson, Provo and American Fork continued their winning ways over Springville and Pleasant Grove, respectively respec-tively and Timpview got hack into the race for a tournament berth with a win over Spanish Fork. With that as a criteria Provo, American Fork and Dixie have it already made. To meet that magic number the Redmen will have to win three of their four remaining games and three of those games are on the road. Region Six had a full slate of games Wednesday night, but the Redmen, drew the bye. Some critical games for the Redmen however. Timpview was expected to slip a notch as they took on the Cave men. Dixie was expected to pick up a win over Pleasant Grove at PG. Payson should suffer their 12th loss of the season agaiast Provo and a critical game in the race for state pitted Spanish Fork against Springville. Friday night the Redmen will be on the road again as they travel north to take on Spanish Fork. That game is slated for 7:30 p.m. and it really comes down to must wins for the Redmen. In other action it will be Timpview at Dixie and the Redmen are hoping that the Dixie crew can pick up a win in this outing. Pleasant Grove is at Payson and Springville should slip a notch as they travel to American Fork to meet the Cavemen, Beyond that the Redmen will be on the road against Pleasant Grove. They will return home for the final home stand of the season against Timpview-that game is scheduled Wednesday, Wed-nesday, March 1. Coach Neilsen and the Redmen will wind up the regular season on the road against Springville and the right to advance to the state finals may well be determined in that final outing of the season. WILL NEED THESE BUCKETS. The Cedar High School Redmen will need some more of this inside play in the final stretch drive in Region Six. The Redmen face a tough task to make the state tournament. In this action against Springville the Redmen pick up an easy two points. |
