He is now completing tiis junior year at BYl'. Stephen D. Knell, of Cedar City, is currently on a 10-day West Coast tour as a member of the Bngham Young University entertainment en-tertainment group "The Sounds of Freedom," Knell, a graduate of Cedar City High School, and performs as a percussionist with the troupe. Composed of 12 singers and dancers assisted by a nine piece band, the group features c o n t e m p o r a r y arrangements of numbers such as "I Believe in Music" and "Love Train." The theme of their presentations is "It's a Musical World." The group has performed extensively in the United States, including participation par-ticipation in a special Bicentennial program for which the Sounds received the Freedom Foundation's George Washington Honor Medal. In addition, they have appeared in the Orient, Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean. Following the February tour, the group plans to tour Russia and Poland. "We hope to put together a show that is visual enough through choreography, staging and costumes so that our audiences feel and sense the different moods even if they |
