Show m Oil L vii it f nU HOST REGION MEET. The Parowan High Ham girls basketball squad will host region tournament this week. Ram Girls host Basketball Tourney PAROWAN - The PHS gymnasium will be the site this weekend, Feb. 17 and 18, for the Girl's Region 8 Basketball tournament. Those teams participating finished first or second in their respective divisions, and the tournament will contain six schools. Gunnison, last year's state champions, will play the first game at 3 p.m. Friday against a much improved Valley team. Then at 5, the Enterprise Wolves will pit a strong team against an experienced Panguitch team who is 6-0 on the year. The Rams will wrap up Friday's play against Wayne at 7:00. The Rams go into the play-offs as the first place team after winning a flip with Enterprise as both teams finished at 5-1 in division play. After Friday's games a three-way flip will occur with the winner of the flip getting a bye on Saturday. The other two will play again Saturday at 1:00. Winner of that game will play the team who had the bye at 7:00 for the championship. Four of the top six teams in the state last year will be competing at this tournament, tour-nament, so plenty of action can be seen. Everyone in the area is invited. |
