Show Hooper. This settlement, commonly com-monly known as the "Muskrat," situ-uated situ-uated about ten miles west of Ogdcu, is growing and fiouiishing rapidly, i'here are about 100 families in the eettlement, a great number of farms have bein opened and brought under ciitivation during the past year ; good crops would have been raised if the grasshoppers had not interfered. All kinds of cereals grow there, and orchards orch-ards and nurseries have been set out with excellent promise for fruit. A canal ten miles in length has been dug, which will supply water sufficient lor mill and iriigaung purposes. Several hundred actus of fail grain have been sown this season, as well as a great quautity of grass-seed. Hooper has a good meeliug-house nearly finished, and many neat and commodious dwelling dwell-ing houses.
