Show SALES DAY TO END SHOW OF PET STOCK Prospective Poultrymen Expected to Look for Bargains in Birds Today. Today, which marks the end of the Utah Breeders' and Pet Stock association associa-tion show, being held at 37 West Second Sec-ond South street, is sales day, ono of the most important of the entire week's exhibition. Considerable stimulation to backyard chicken raising was given by the recent show of the Utah Poultry association and the present plans of the organization toward more general keeping keep-ing of fowls for conservation of. the meat supply of the state. Poultry comprises com-prises the greatest part of the pet stock show and it is believed many prospective prospec-tive backyard poultrymen will secure the nucleus of their runs among the birds exhibited. Among the recent awards were: Best rabbits, F. W. Gordy; largest display of bantams, best display and sweepstakes for bantams, Kulon Dixon, Provo; best display of ornamental birds, Emil Xok-leby; Xok-leby; largest poultry display, W.. O. Ranshaw; second largest poultry display, dis-play, George O. Rolf; largest display of pigeons, C. J. ChambeTlain, Magna; sec- ond largest pigeon display, C. J. Deitz; best display of rabbits, J. Reid; best ducks, L. Williamson; best geese, E. T. Williams; best Ancona display, W. W. Waddison; best display of silkies, L. Williamson; best Ancona, George Soffe. Pigeon awards were: Special prize for best old cock and best bird in show, W. ,T. Thomas; special for best old hen, best tumbler and best Orientals, C. .1. Deitz; best Mondaines, C TJ. Sinclair; best dragoon, R. T. Snowball; best runt, C. J. Chamberlain; best show homer, Lawrence Peck; best English pouter, Martin Linden; best pigmy pouter, George Buchanan; best carrier and best Carneaux, Henry Cameron; best Turbit, owl and fantai'l, W. J. Thomas; best Jacobin, G. II. Backman; best white king, Gerritt De.Tong. The best display of squab breeders was made by C. J. Chamberlain. Pacific Pa-cific coast Jacobin special, best black, rsd and yellow Jacobin go to G. H. Backman. |
