Show BOYS AND GIRLS TO STUDY BIRD LIFE Special to The Tribune. P( K'ATEEl .O, Ida ho, Jan. 4. A club to be known as the "Eannoel; Bird boosters" boost-ers" has been organized by ihe ho s and Rirls of Emerson school, under tbr aus-picrs aus-picrs of the National Association of Audubon Au-dubon Societies. Un Saturdays they wdll go out In groups to watch the birds and their habits hab-its and study the construction of the nests. It is the purpose of the boys and girls not only to make a study of birds, but to protect a nd help nourish them. Owing to the open winter many of tlm summer birds have not migrated this year and among them are many species that are invaluable as weed and insect destroyers. As a part of their Christmas exercises, the members ol the. club put up food hampers in trees about town, and bird houses are to bo constructed soon. The club, which lias a membership of sixty -four, has elected t ho following officers: of-ficers: President, George Reese; vice president, Carl Cederstrom: s-cretary, Maudean Short; treasurer, Ophelia Bur- I rus. ! |
