Show I Legion Units fYZet Friday Evening I The regular meetings of Wm. R. Sands Post and Unit No. 5 were held Friday evening at j the Legion Hall. Commander : Blaine Brokaw was in charge of the Legion session, while ; President Florence Lott conduct-! conduct-! ed the Auxiliary meeting1. I A committee in charge of membership reported that the membership quota for this Unit had been reached. The Auxiliary perfected plans to raise funds to participate in the campaign for Eve Ashton, who will be presented as a candidate can-didate from Utah for the office of national president at the next national convention. A public Bingo party will be held Thursday, Thurs-day, Feb. 21. at the Legion HaJl to help raise these funds. It is hoped that a large crowd will attend as their support will be appreciated and much fun wi.d be in store for the general pub- lic- Mr. and Mrs. Loyal Perry visited relatives in Salt Lake City Wednesday and Thursday of last week. Pvt. Vernon Brummett, who has been visiting his mother, Mrs. Wesley Brummett, during a two weeks furlough, left Thursday for Areata, California, where he will make a short visit vis-it at the home of his brother. Alvin Brummett. He will then go to Ft. Lawton, Washington, where he will join regiments being shipped to Japan. Mrs. Frank Adams, who recently re-cently underwent an operation at the Vernal hospital, was sufficiently suf-ficiently recovered Friday to be returned to her home here, where she will convalesce. |
