Show Art Exhibits To Feature At Education Confab By Mrs. Thelma Nye An extraordinary feature of the first Uintah Basin Rural Life and Education Conference to be held at Union High School, Friday and Saturday, will, be two very special art exhibits, according ac-cording to Mrs. Virginia P. Roberts, Rob-erts, of Myton, executive committee com-mittee member in charge of the art exhibit. Professor Warren B. Wilson, of the Art Department of the Utah State Agricultural College, will send an exhibit of his work, including ceramics, sculpture, etchings and paintings, for, display dis-play during the conference. Mr. Wilson conducted an extension course in art at Roosevelt during dur-ing the summer months two years ago. Mrs. Roberts has also been advised ad-vised that Professor B. F. Lar-sen, Lar-sen, instructor of art at Brigham Young University, will have an exhibit of work done by students stu-dents and teachers in his department depart-ment on dislay at Union High School, during the conference. Members of the conference planning committee feel this will greatly enhance the cultural cultur-al features of the conference, and Mrs. Roberts deserves considerable con-siderable praise for her untiring untir-ing efforts to obtain these special spe-cial art exhibits. Mrs. Roberts will also serve as chairman of Discussion Group III. "Stimulating "Stimulat-ing a Greater Desire for Cultural Cultur-al Opportunities in Rural Areas," Ar-eas," and the art exhibit will be a physical representation of this oft times neglected subject. |
