Show MIA PRESENTS PLAY The MIA presented a 3-act comedy play entitled "Deacon Dubbs," last Thursday evening. It was attended by a very large crowd. They have been invited to present it at Neola in the near future. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Haslem, Reva Hall and John Haslem attended at-tended the funeral services for Wallace Southam, at Vernal on Monday. Bertha Bolton, Billy Haslem and Myron Haslem were among the Seminary graduates Sunday evening at Roosevelt. A farewell dinner party was given for Mr. and Mrs. Frank Long, of Vernal, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Houston. They are leaving Vernal . to make their home in Oklahoma. Mr. and Mrs. Ned Coltharp and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Coltharp helped to make the evening a pleasant one. Billy Haslem has been chosen to attend the Boys' State this summer. Bennett and Myton played a practice baseball game at Myton. My-ton. Saturday, the score being 10 to 1 in favor of Myton. There will be no church services ser-vices next Sunday on account of stake conference at Roosevelt. Roose-velt. And ward conference will be May 30 at 8 p.m. Mrs. Mildred Norling, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Harmston were visitors at the home of Floyd Harmston Saturday. Mrs Norling Nor-ling is from Vallejo, Calif. . Mr. and Mrs. Dick Coltharp, entertained at a dinner party Sunday for her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Nichols, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Nichols, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Quick, Mrs. Kuhlman, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Swensen, all of Rangely; Mrs. J. A. Key-sier, Key-sier, of Grand Junction; and Mrs. Thursa Green, an aunt from Ontario, Canada, and Mr. and Mrs - W. H. Coltharp. Wayne and Ray Haslem made a business trip to Salt Lake City Tuesday. Mrs. Nellie Horrocks visited Thursday afternoon in Roosevelt Roose-velt with Mrs. Grace Labrum and Florence Adams. Bishop John Haslem, Clair Haslem and Keith Bowen took the Aaronic priesthood members of the ward on an outing to Split Mountain, Saturday. All enjoyed - a very nice day. Winfred Long is still in the Veterans' Hospital. He is im- proving nicely, but will be there some time longer. |
