Show Chrisfensen Resigns As School Superintendent The Duchesne County Board of Education at their last' monthly meeting, held May 11, accepted the resignation of Dean C. Christensen as superintendent of the District he has served the past four years. No successor has been named by the board. The resignation of Mr.. Christensen, Chris-tensen, who came to the Duchesne Du-chesne school district on July 1, 1950, brings to an end four years of active participation in civic and church affairs in the county. In addition to his school duties, he has served two years as chairman -of the Duchesne County Fair Board, during which time great strides have been enjoyed in the fair activities. acti-vities. He is currently serving as second counselor in the Duchesne Du-chesne LDS take presidency, a calling that came last fall. A native of Ephraim, where he attended high school and junior college, Mr. Christensen will enter the University of Utah next Sail as a graduate student, and will work toward his PHD. The schools in Duchesne Du-chesne district have enjoyed great progress under the -able administrative leadership of Supt. Christensen. Applications will be received by the board of education of , Duchesne County for the position posi-tion of superintendent, with the board to interview applicants on June 2, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Applications from 'those who can meet the qualifications of a school administrator will be appreciated by the board. Mr. Christensen's contract will expire June 30, but he has agreed to remain until his -successor has been appointed and received any assistance needed from him.
