Show Attend Outing The following Aaronic priesthood priest-hood members of the Avalon ward attended the Roosevelt stake Priesthood outing Saturday, Satur-day, May 15: Milton and Larry Stoddard, Benny, Michael and Donald Wall, Richard Brough, Lynn Moore, Richard Durfee and Chester McMullin and Mr. Fahy Durfee. They met other stake Aaronic members in Vernal, Ver-nal, where they visited the museum. mu-seum. They heard a lecture on Echo Park Dam, given by a government geologist. The group enjoyed lunch on the courthouse lawn and then proceeded pro-ceeded to the Dinosaur Monument Monu-ment near Jensen. From there they visited the Green River Gorge, which they enjoyed fishing fish-ing and skipping rocks across the river. Each one brought his lunch. Ice cream was furnished by the stake. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Moore and Robert Brough went to Green-dale Green-dale Thursday to visit Mrs. Moore's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar . Swett. They brought home a truck load of poles. The Avalon Trail Builders and Home Builder groups went to "Hoosevelf Saturday afternoon after-noon to practice songs for the stake conference. Mrs. Zilpha Wall and daughter, daugh-ter, Deon, were Salt Lake City visitors Friday and Saturday. Avalon ward MIA officers and teachers attending stake MIA Leadership, Saturday evening eve-ning were: Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Pickup, Wayne Pickup, Grant Jarman, Beatrice Chandler, Lu-la Lu-la Dudley and Viola Jensen. The Primary graduated Ronald Ron-ald Dudley and Bryce Moore from the Primary. Bishop Durfee Dur-fee presented the boys with cer tificates of graduation. Mrs. Lu-la Lu-la Dudley is the Guide Patrol leader. Speakers at Sacrament meeting meet-ing Sunday were Bishop Franklin Frank-lin L. Jarman and Bishop Ralph Durfee. Reah Pickup played a piano selection. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Searle and family, of McKenna, Wyo., have bought the Parley Miller farm on Green River and have moved into their home. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Jorgensen and daughter, of Kemmerer, Wyoming, were overnight visitors vis-itors at the home of Mr. Jor-gensen's Jor-gensen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Jorgensen. Mrs. Venna Wardel and son, Jimmy, of Vernal, visited Tuesday Tues-day at the home of her sister, Mrs. Lorna Jorgensen. Students graduating from Seminary Sunday evening were Robert Dudley and Grace McMullin. |
