Show j Union High "Glut - 6W j 4 SV WWVWV,.V Maura Hurley, Pat Oines, Jean Roller and Jean Fields, who head the yearbook staff at Union this year, went to Springville with Mrs. Blanche' Murphy, faculty advisor, to piick out the print to be used in this year's yearbook. They also journeyed to Saflft liake to seleot the cover for the yearbook. year-book. They were shown through the Mountain States Bindery and saw how a book is made from ibeglinndngi to end. They also saw how our yearbook year-book covers are made. Mrs. Murphy spent the remainder of the day purchasing books for our library, while the others attended a good movie. - cUc -Coach Glen Allred had 53 iboys try out for basketball this week. We, here at Union, feel that from this number of fellows fel-lows we can get an excellent ball team who will figlhlt to the last minute and foe good sports, win or lose. - cUc -Last Tuesday, Cuba Case. Kent Jensen, Barbara Ray, Sally Sal-ly Burgess and Phyllis Yergen-sen, Yergen-sen, with Mr. Atkinson, attended attend-ed the Voice of Democracy contest con-test held at Vernal. This is an annual event that students at Union and Uintah High Schools participate in. The purpose is to help the students appreciate more fully the prinpiples of democracy. - cUc - " The seniors had an assembly wihlioh was enjoyed by all on Monday. Some of the numbers were outstanding and especially especial-ly enjoyed by all were: A skit by Kent Jensen on milking a cow; Bartbara Ray had an excellent ex-cellent record pantonine, Janice Jan-ice Nielsen did very well with "Whether Thou Goest," the chorus class had two nice numbers. num-bers. All in all everything was very well accepted by the student stu-dent body. The seniors have al- so been Working overtime preparing pre-paring for their Senior Hop, which was held on Wednesday night. |
