Show fallout ! Mrs. Ellen Bracken Phone 62062 Drother Dies John Cook received word of the death of his brother, Mark, in Vernal, last week. He, with his sons, Jack, Orlan and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cook, attended funeral services in Naples on Frtiday. Last Tuesday was work day in Relief Society, with the ladies lad-ies meeting at 10 o'clock. A quilt was started for Mrs. Lawrence Brighton. Due to' Parents' Par-ents' Day at Union High School not so many ladies were there. Mr. and Mrs. Max Hunting and children, of Vernal, called on Mrs. Lynn Bracken Tuesday in Roosevelt. They were former form-er residents of Ballard. Mrs. Winfred Long, of Bennett, Ben-nett, worked in the 'ADterra school kitchen in place of Mrs. Agnes Walker last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Leonlaird Mitchell, Mitch-ell, who have had employment at Mt. Hood, Oregon, have been at the home of Mrs. Mitchell's parents, Mr and Mrs. Bill Jenkins, Jen-kins, the past week. Their plans now are to move to Pro-vO, Pro-vO, where Leonard will have v employment. Mr. and Mrs. Connor Cha-poose, Cha-poose, of Alterra, are the proud parents of a baby boy born Nov. 8. Mrs. Amanda Prince, of Jensen, Jen-sen, visited wiiith her brother and sister-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hatch, recently. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Shisler have started to build them a home just east, of the Tom Shislers' on their farm. TEMPLE EXCURSION " There will be a Temple Ex cursion to the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple Friday. Dec. 3. Russel Todd had the misfortune misfor-tune to (have his nose broken while working on a house in Roosevelt, Thursday of last week. Ellis Denver, Sr. is accompanying accom-panying an uncle on a trip to Mexico and California. George Bracken spent several sever-al days doing carpenter work on the home of" Mr. and .Mrs. Albert Harris in Randlett last week. Mr. and Mrs. Bob McArthur, of Roosevelt, have a baby girl Ibom Nov. 9. This is another grandchild for Mr. and Mrs. Farre.ll Rasmussen. Word has been received that the baby daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Johnson, at Pro-vo, Pro-vo, had improved enough that they had taken it home from the hospital last week. Wm. Jenkins is confined to the Roosevelt Hospital where he was taken last Thursday. At this writing he is improving. FAST SUNDAY NOV. 28 Due to Roosevelt stake conference con-ference being held on Dec. 5, Fast Day exercises will be held next Sunday. Nov. 28. Miss Eula Brighton, of Salt Lake City, enjoyed a short visit vis-it with her parents last Sunday. Sun-day. Mrs. Ray Westwood and sons of Rangely, Colo., visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John H. Cook one day last week. She 'brought her brother, Wayne Cook home. He has been with the Westwoods for a visit. Mrs. Sophlia May and son, Stanley, of Salt Lake City, were callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elton Kettle on Friday. Mr. Kettle takes care of the May property in Ballard. Garth Tietjen, of Roosevelt, and a member of the stake Sunday Sun-day School board, visited in 'BaMlard at Sunday School last Sunday. Perry Butcher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Butcher, fell recently and injured his hip. He was taken to the Veterans' Hospital in Salt Lake City for treatment. Ballard parents were well represented at Union High Sdhiool in observance of Parents' Par-ents' Day last Tuesday. SHOWER HONORS A NEW ARRIVAL A group of fifteen ladies of the vicinity of Aiiterra met at the Earl Gardner home last Friday Fri-day afternoon and held a show-er show-er for the new son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Dean. Mrs. Von Haslem and Mrs. Gardner had charge of the shower. Mrs. Thomas Jeppson and Mrs. Geo. Bracken received first prizes in two games, and Mrs. Arlan Taylor and Mrs. Anna Bess La-Rose, La-Rose, the booby prizes. Delicious Deli-cious refreshments were' served. Mont, Kermit and Milton Pouison. of Duchesne, spent three days last week assisting Karl Shisler on his new home. Mrs. Lynn Bracken spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Rowberry, at Tooele. Mr and Mrs. Boyd Winn and daughter, Charlotte left Tuesday Tues-day for Rexfourg, Idaho to spend Thanksgiving with Mrs Winn's mother, Mrs. Eulalia Clinger, and other relatives. Lynn White went to Salt Lake City, Logan and Provo over the weekend. He olans oh entering the Mission Home in Salt Lake City in January, prior to going on an L.D.S. mission. Mrs. John H. COok is improving im-proving nicely now from her recent re-cent sickness. Visitors at the Cook home recently were Mr. and Mrs. George Cook, of Hiawatha, Hia-watha, Mr. and Mrs. William Cook, of Salt Lake City, and Mrs. LaPreal Lybbertt, of Moses Mos-es Lake, Washington. |
