Show Traffic School Is Conducted Here By Safety Council One of a series of safety meetings conducted throughout the state of Utah was held last Saturday afternoon 1 at Union High School, with six members mem-bers of the Utah Safety Council Coun-cil in attendance. E. J. W. Wheatlake presided at the meeting, introducing the following state officers: Nelson Spafford, assistant ajttorney general; Leroy Taylor, dean of School of Engineering, University Univer-sity of Utah; J. Allen Crockett, Justice of the Supreme Court; Ernest Bourne, head of the Utah Safety Council; and George Miller, head of the drivers' license division, State Tax Commission. Approximately thirty - five police officers, highway patrolmen, patrol-men, sheriffs, city officials and Indian department representatives representa-tives from Duchesne and Uintah Uin-tah counties were in attendance to hear advice and statistics from the state people concerning concern-ing traffic accidents. Main purpose of the meeting was to effect ways for better rordination among peace officers, offi-cers, highway patrolmen, police po-lice officers, etc. in cutting down the traffic accidents in the state of Utah. This was the eleventh meeting meet-ing to be called by the officers throughout the state. |
