Avalon vs. Indian Mis. - 7:30 Neola vs Myton - 8:30 Elementary Gym) Roosevelt 2nd vs Roosevelt 7:30 Roosevelt 3rd vs B'allard, 8:30 (Jr. High Gym) Basketball in the Roosevelt stake M Men program got off to a very successful start last week when 10 teams in the Junior Division and 8 in the Senior circuit began the 1954-55 1954-55 season play. Despite the lack of practice, most of the teams in (both groups gave promise of more interesting things to come before the schedule sched-ule is completed early in February. Feb-ruary. Myton, Roosevelt 4th, Ballard Bal-lard (A), Neola and Roosevelt wards went through the first nights' .play toy defeating Montwel, Mont-wel, Ballard (B), Avalon, Roosevelt Roos-evelt 2nd and the Indian Mission Mis-sion in the Junior Division. Four wards in the stake. Roosevelt Roos-evelt 3rd, Whliterocks, Ioka and Moffaitt did not enter teams in the younger class. Myton, the teaim that won the M Men title in the stake last spring, Roosevelt Third, Neola and Roosevelt Second led off with wins last Thursday night when they' dumped the Indian Mission, Roosevelt, Ballard Bal-lard and Avalon, respectively. Two players, Devere Ostler, second ward, and Gwen Bodily, Avalon, each dunked 20 points through the hoop in the senior opening to take high scoring honors. Schedule Approved According to Devon Fewn Grover Dye, athletic directors, the schedule has been adopted for both divisions, showing the Junior teams playing on Wednesdays Wed-nesdays and the Senior groups on Thursdays The Elementary and Junior High Sdhiool gyms are being used for the games. Weekly schedules will be printed print-ed along" with the resullts of the previous week's games. |
