Show lrcciclia Mrs. Elsie Bird Return After Vacation Trip Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bird and daughters, Deon, Delaine and Mildred, returned home Sunday after a two weeks' vacation vaca-tion trip. They visited Bryce", Grand and Zion Canyons, Boulder Boul-der Dam, spent one night with Mrs. Bird's sister, Mrs. Teenie Ross, at San Bernardino, Calif., and their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Bird, at San Diego, Calif. While there they went to Tijuana, Mexico, where they saw the dog races. They visited other points of interest in-terest along the coast, stopping at Yuba City, Calif, to visit an-. an-. other sister of Mr. Bird's, Mrs. Margaret Atkinson, where they attended church. Yuba City has a chapel just like the Duchesne stake chapel. Their trip took them into Oregon, Washington, Montana, Idaho and Wyoming. In Washington they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Julius Zirker, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Solmonson, Mr. and Mrs. Vernal Nielson, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Zirker. Ed Zirker took them on a tour of the Grand Coulee dam. They spent some time at Yellowstone National Park and at the St. George, Idaho Falls and Logan Temples. BIRTHDAY PARTY Mrs. Lynn R. Hansen entertained enter-tained at a birthday party Monday, Mon-day, Sept. 21. in honor of her husband. Present were Mr. and Mrs Lyndon Hansen, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Hershel Iorg, Mr. and Mrs. Ned Mitchell and Mr. and Mrs. Evan Hansen, all of Al-tamont. Al-tamont. The evening was spent visiting, after which refreshments refresh-ments were served. Mrs. Leah Richens and her son, Dallas Richens, F.M.3, of Salt Lake City, visited Wednesday Wednes-day to Friday at the home of Mrs. Richens' mother, Mrs. Cynthia Larsen. Dallas is home on a thirty-day furlough. Mr. and Mrs. Milt Larsen took their daughter, Pauline, to Provo, Friday, where she will enter college. The following Relief Society ladies attended the stake Relief Society opening at Duchesne, Tuesday: Gladys Ross, Celia Gilbert, Gil-bert, Betty Evans, Evelyn Mul-lins Mul-lins arid Norma Hansen. Stake visitors at "Meet Me At Mutual," Tuesday night were Mr. and Mrs. Orin Curry, of Tabiona; Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Mal-colm Walters and Ruth Walters, of Bridgeland. A very pleasant evening was spent and peanuts were enjoyed by all. Mrs. Marion S. Shields, Mrs. Gladys Ross and Mrs. Norma Hansen attended the shower in honor of Mrs. Norton Shelton at Bridgeland, Saturday. . Visitors at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Hale Holgate and Mr. and Mrs. Chad Evans, Saturday and Sunday, were Mr. and Mrs. Silas Ross, of Castle Gate, and Bob Murdock, county agent, of Roosevelt. Von Horrocks, of Rangely, Colo., visited Sunday at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Horrocks. The Arcadia ward bishopric and their wives took the Aaron-ic Aaron-ic priesthood to Salt Lake City to the Fair. They attended the "Ice Follies," and camped out in the canyon. Marion Ross went to Salt Lake City, Sunday, to get their car that has been in the garage. Mr. and Mrs. Scott Lusty and family spent the weekend in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. James O. Larsen Lar-sen made a trip to Provo to get fruit during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Ross and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gwen Bodily, of Roosevelt, visited Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Ross. Mrs. Cynthia Massey, of Vernal, is spending a few days with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Ross. ' Mrs. Rose Gilbert has been getting acquainted with her new granddaughter, born to Mr. and Mrs. Edsel Murphy, in Salt Lake. Mrs. Murphy will be remembered as Ruth Gilbert. |
