Show Yea Hosiers Girls' Stale Bepresentatives A tea honoring three Girls' State representatives was held Wednesday evening, Sept. 23, at the Legion Barracks under the direction of the Girls' State chairman, Mrs. Howard Harrison. Harri-son. Approximately fifty guests attended at-tended the social, presided over by Tina' Wilkins, Auxiliary president. The colors were presented pre-sented and the opening ceremony cere-mony conducted by the president, presi-dent, assisted by pages, Mrs. Bill Edwards and Mrs. Czar Rudy, and the chaplain, Mrs. Lee Allred. Honored guests recognized were Wm. Sutteer, Department Commander, and Bill Murdock, District Commander. Com-mander. Mrs. Harrison was then introduced intro-duced and conducted the remainder re-mainder of the program. A violin vio-lin solo' was played by Mrs. Walter Litchfield, accompanied by Mrs. Nettie Reynolds, and a vocal solo presented by Miss Helen Rudy, accompanied by Miss Marilyn Anderson. Climaxing the program was introduction of the Girls' State representatives, Gwenita Curry, Donna Ross and Lou Ann Morrill, Mor-rill, who gave very comprehensive comprehen-sive reports of their trip to Girls' State last summer, discussing dis-cussing the political and governmental govern-mental phases of the state and state officials. They stated that they greatly appreciated the opportunity op-portunity for the experience and hoped that more girls would be able to attend in the future. Mrs. Harrison was assisted with refreshments by Mrs. Wilkins, Wil-kins, Mrs. Rex Curry and Mrs. Allred. Mrs. Howard Reynolds made arrangements for the mus. ical numbers. A low bowl of pink asters accented ac-cented with pink lighted tapers in crystal candleabra formed the setting for the table covered with a lace cloth. Sponsoring the girls to' attend the meet at Logan were the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit Un-it 64, the Roosevelt Civic Clubs and the Ft. Duchesne Women's Club. |
