Show Computation Of 1951 County Taxes To Dc Completed During Week; Levy Exceeds Last Year Dy .SO Hills Computation of the 1951 taxes for Duchesne county were expected ex-pected to be completed this week, reports Porter L. Merrell, county clerk, and ex officio auditor, aud-itor, under whose direction the computation is being made. Mill levy for the county is 42.90, or 1.70 mills higher than the 1950 levy of 41.20. Included in this total the county coun-ty levy of 9.90 mills; total school levy set by local school board 20.00 mills; school equalization equ-alization levy 6.30 mills; uniform uni-form minimum local levy .6.70 mills; or a total of 33.00 mills for school purposes. The 1950 levy set by the Duchesne Du-chesne county commissioners was .90 mills lower than the 1951 levy of 42.90. The increase for this year is chiefly due to action of the Utah Legislature which fixed the minimum levy for county roads at 3.00 mills. Last year, only a 2.00 mill levy was set by the county board. Local school levy was upped two mills this year, from 18.00 to 20.00, but the levies fixed by state dropped from 14.20 mills to 13.00 mills, offsetting the local lo-cal hike. Levy set by, the local school school board is 8.00 mills for support and maintenance excess minimum program; capital outlay out-lay 5.15 mills; debt service (interest, bonds), 6.85 mills. Duchesne county levied 4.50 mills for general county purposes; pur-poses; 3.00 mills for county roads; .40 mills for maintenance and relief of poor and indigent persons; .25 mills for collecting, preparing, and maintenance of exhibits; .25 mills for the Colorado Colo-rado River Project; 1.00 for control of noxious weeds; .25 mills for expenses of the agricultural agri-cultural agent or aid; .25 mills for airport expenses, or a total of 9.90. Special taxes on livestock has been imposed as follows on each dollar of assessed valuation: State bounty on sheep 25.00 mills; state bounty on turkeys 10.00 mills; state predatory animal ani-mal control fund 5.00 on all sheep and goats, 2.00 mills on all range horses and range cattle; cat-tle; brand inspection 4.50 mills on all horses and mules and cattle; .50 mills on all sheep and goats; tuberculosis and bang's disease control fund 3.00 mills on all cattle other than range cattle. The 1951 tax co'mptation is being figured on a near $7,600,-000.00 $7,600,-000.00 assessed valuation. In addition to the county levy of 42.90 mills, property owners in incorporated towns will pay taxes computed on an additional city levy, as follows: Duchesne, 26.00 mills, or a total levy of 68.90 mills; Myton, 25.00 mills, total of 67.90 mills; Roosevelt, 25.00 mills, or a total of 67.00 mills; Tabiona, 8.00 mills, or a total of 50.90 mills. |
