Show SALT LAKE SELECTED AS SITE FOR WATER USERS' MEETING "The Need for a United Effort in Our Water Development Program" Pro-gram" is the theme of the pro-j gram for the annual meeting of , the Utah Water Users Associa-j tion, which is scheduled to be held in the Governor's Room of the State Capitol beginning at 10 a. m. on Oct. 3. The convention will be called to order by President Wm. R. Wallace of the association. Mr. Wallace will give a history of j our water development program in Utah as a beginning feature 'of the convention. Following this historical resume, reports will be read by Horace T. Godfrey, God-frey, representing the finance committee, and by Thos. W. Jensen, Jen-sen, secretary-manager of the Utah Water Users Association. Election of officers is on the agenda for 10:50 a. m., following follow-ing a report of the nominating committee by Nels L. Peterson, chairman. An NRA director and a , member of the Resolutions committee will also be named. Vice President D. D. Harris -will lead a discussion on the Basin committee's Man on Land report at 11:10 a. m. The afternoon session will be called to order at 2 by Vice President George D. Clyde. Opening Op-ening the afternoon session wili be a discussion by William Peterson, Pet-erson, past director of the Extension Ex-tension Service. His topic will be Utah's Need in Underground and Surface Water Development. Carl Frischknecht, U.S.A.C. Extension Ex-tension Director, will present to the group the U.S.A.C. Exten-tion Exten-tion Service's policy of aiding in water development from an educational edu-cational standpoint. ' Wilford Y. Cannon, production produc-tion manager of the Utah-Idaho Sugar company, will discuss the need of conserving water throughout the state for the development of sugar beets and other late crops. E. O. Larson, regional director of the Bureau of Reclamation, will give a last minute report on the Bureau's engineering and planning on reclamation projects in our areas. Joseph M. Tracy, state engineer, engin-eer, will speak on what the State of Utah is doing in perfecting per-fecting our water resources and will suggest what the Water Users' obligation . is in carrying out such a program. Every one interested in water development within the state or region is invited to attend this meeting, reports T. W. Jensen, secretary-manager of the state association. |
