Show jpJtii Tup Waprnar Diabetes Association schedules seminar By DONETA GATHERUM CLINTON The Davis-Weber County Diabetes Association Chapters will hold a special daylong day-long parent and youth seminar Saturday, March 26 beginning with registration at 8:30 a.m. in the West Clinton Elementary School, 2826 W. 1800 N., Clinton. The program will consist of three one-hour lectures designed especially espe-cially for parents and young people who have diabetes. A lunch will be served at noon. Cost is $2 for the meal. A guest speaker will talk about ab-out the latest in diabetes research during the lunch period. In order to plan for food preparation, prepara-tion, those wishing to attend and to purchase a meal should call by March 18 for reservations. This can be done by notifying Debbie Oman at 544-8416 after 5 p.m.; Vicki Gestring at 776-5914 or the Utah Office for American Diabetes Research at 1-800-423-1734. Those attending can choose one of three topics each hour. At 9 a.m. the programs will include school lunch program, careers or fast food survival. The 10 a.m. seminars will cover the following topics: training family fami-ly members about diabetes, drugs and alcohol or physical fitness. Stress management, pregnancy and diabetes and peer pressure are the three topics to be presented at 11 a.m. To reach West Clinton Elementary Elemen-tary School take the 1-15 off exit, 338 (Clearfield-Sunset) and travel north on the Main Street for one mile . Make a left turn at 1 800 North and follow the road to 2826 West. |
