Show Eagle Scout Award Daron M. Gatherum, 15 year old son of Ralph and Doneta Gatherum, Gather-um, received his Eagle Scout advancement adv-ancement award at a special court of honor held Feb. 20 in the Layton 6th LDS Ward. Daron is a sophomore at Layton High School where he is a member of the school band and cross country coun-try track team. His scouting achievements include in-clude attending two scout camps, serving as patrol leader, senior patrol pat-rol leader and Cub Scout den chief. He earned the Arrow of Light Award, the Faith in God and Gospel Gos-pel in Action awards. For his Eagle project, Daron helped plan and construct a turn-of-the-century kitchen for the Layton Heritage Museum. This included locating artifacts for the kitchen, researching resear-ching kitchens prior to 1930 and restoring a rocking chair. An active member of the LDS Church, Daron has held many positions posi-tions of leadership in the Deacons and Teachers quorum. He is currently cur-rently serving as the president of the Teachers quorum for the Layton 6th Ward. Daron is a member of Troop 158 sponsored by the Layton 6th Ward. He was also a member of N -ft lJ : KMX : - -P! W- DARON M. GATHERUM Troop 163 sponsored by the Layton 7th Ward. His scoutmaster is Jim Johansen. |
