Show News Briefs From Neighboring ... NEOLA 1 ;! By Lecia Horrocks Babies Named Three babies were given names in meeting last Sunday. Julia Ann Jensen was blessed by her grandfather, Lionel Jensen; Jen-sen; the name of Daniel E. was given to the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Crozier by his father; the new daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Crozier was chris- tened Dixie by her father, Charles Crozier. Lorin LaRose has been confined con-fined to his bed with a case of rheumatic fever. Sunday visitors at the Ferris Henrie home included Mr. and Mrs. Quentin Allred, of Ogden; Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Allred, of Salt Lake City. Melba Bastain has been taken to' the St. Marks Hospital in Salt Lake City for an operation. Mr. and Mrs. Thad Wilkerson spent last Friday in Salt Lake City. Sunday guests at the Neill Jensen home was Mr. and Mrs. Bud Taylor of Vernal. Mr. and Mrs. Nephi Smithson and daughter, Elaine are visiting visit-ing in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Zora Gardner and Mrs. Marjorie Harrison combined business with pleasure in a trip to Salt Lake City last week. PURCHASES HOME Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Bingham have purchased the farm across the road from the Elroy Halver-son Halver-son home and moved there last week. The family will be a welcome wel-come additionto the ward. Charles Hutcheon, of Clearfield, Clear-field, former Neola resident, is visiting here at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Loren Mills. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Drol-linger Drol-linger and children visited in Neola last Thursday evening. Palmira Peterson and Zora Gardner left last Friday for Logan, where they plan on attending at-tending a six weeks course at summer school. Sixteen new members were added to the ward records last Sunday. The families of Merlyn Reynolds, Wilson Larry, Nyle Buxton and Max Farnsworth were accepted in Fast Day meeting. Shirley and Larry Mounteer, of Salt Lake City, have been visiting at the Paul Whiting home. Leonard Eskelson arrived from Provo last Saturday to take his family to their new home there. The family of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Bastian was made happy last Friday by the arrival of a new sister. Mr. and Mrs. Con Wilkerson, of Whiterocks, spent Sunday visiting in Neola. Miss Jeanette Smithson has gone to Salt Lake City for the summer months. Mrs. Carol Ferguson and baby are visiting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Crozier. She plans on joining her husband, who is in the Armed Forces, as soon as living quarters can be found. Garth Horrocks is employed in Vernal during the summer months. The families of Allan Harrison, Harri-son, M. A. Harrison, Don Horrocks Hor-rocks and Mirl Jennings, of Roosevelt, enjoyed an evening of watching movie scenes of their children last Sunday evening eve-ning at the Theron Horrocks home. It has been hard for the Clifford Clif-ford Olsen family to go about their daily tasks the past two weeks since their son-in-law, i Jerry Harrison, of Salt Lake City, installed a television set in their home. The reception has been good, especially from the channels originating in Grand Junction, Colo. |
