Show First P-TA Meet Draws Large Attendance Thurs. P-TA activity began in Roosevelt Roose-velt last Thursday evening, when over a hundred parents, teachers and guests assembled at the Roosevelt Elementary School for the first P-TA meeting meet-ing of the season. Bennie Schmiett, president, took charge, introducing his officers of-ficers and committee chairmen for the year. Mrs. Howard Harrison Har-rison is vice - president; Principals Princi-pals Lawrell Jensen and John Blaine, 2nd and 3rd vice-presidents; Mrs. Paul Murphy, secretary-treasurer; Mrs. Fran Har. rison, program chairman; Mrs. Cliff Angus, membership; Mrs. T h e r o n Leavitt, hospitality; Mrs. Don Crittenden, head room representative at the Elementary School; Mrs. Marvell Neilson, head room representative at Jr. High School. Elementary school room representatives rep-resentatives include: Mrs. Clarence Clar-ence Allred, Mrs. Cliff Angus, Mrs. Alva Snow, Mrs. Durrell Fredrickson, Mrs. Phil Pack, Mrs. Ralph Shields, Mrs. John Swenson, Mrs. John Gilbert, Mrs. Howard Andrews, Mrs. Cliff Drollinger, Mrs. Hyrum Jensen and Mrs. Marion Felter. Jr. High School room representatives repre-sentatives are: Mrs. Lyall Pitt, Mrs. LaRue Laris, Mrs. George Hacking, Mrs. Lee Allred, Mrs. Rex Curry, Mrs. Rulon Ander-ton, Ander-ton, Mrs. Elmer Eldredge, Mrs. Roe McDonald, Mrs. Frank Hol-! Hol-! gate, Mrs. Max McDonald, and Mrs. Wilma Murray. Community singing was led bv Mr. and Mrs. David Watkins, followed by a -program, presented present-ed by Mrs. Fredrickson's sixth grade. Accompanist was Miss Marilyn Anderson. Guest speakers for the evening eve-ning were Supt. Dean C. Chris-tensen Chris-tensen and Theron Leavitt, board member, who presented concise information on the school bond issue, which will be voted on in November, pointing Out that taxes will not be raised even if the bond issue is-sue is successful. People are urged to support the bond issue, is-sue, which will mean a new school in Altamont; a new Jr.- High School in Roosevelt; and a new school in Duchesne, all three projects to proceed at the same time. Light refreshments were served by Mrs. Leavitt, Mrs. Schmiett and Mrs. Howard Harrison. Har-rison. Meetings will be held the first Thursday of each month, if good attendance continues, stated the president. The attendance banner at the Elementary School went to Mrs. Jensen's 4th grade; and high attendance at-tendance for the Jr. High School went to Vernon Miller's home room. |
