Show Cougars From Union High Rout Otes From Vernal 28-7; Packy Fenn Takes Opening ESM For TD A ninty-yard sprint on the opening kick-off by "Packy" Fenn, fleet-footed Cougar half-sack, half-sack, produced the first of four touchdowns for Union High's ootball team, and took a lot of we heart out of their arch-rivals lrom Uintah High School, Wed-i Wed-i nesday afternoon as they turned oaek the Utes 28-7. Eldredge crossed up the Utes and carried the ball around end for the extra point. The Cougars' final score came in the fourth period, when Milt Mecham went over from the nine after the Cougars had passed and ran the ball from mid-field. Eldredge again kicked the extra point. Coach Horace Gillespie's team was a different ball club than the one one who lost a 6-0 contest to Judge Memorial last Thursday. Several of his team turned in excellent performances perform-ances with Fenn easily the standout. Gordon Eldredge, Ford Larsen, Jack Adams and Albert Collotzi looked good on the line. The next contest will find Moab coming to Roosevelt on Oct. 16. |
