Show be'f CLIFF MEMMOTT, Editor :, nt5 ANOTHER LETTER TO THE EDITOR:-pear EDITOR:-pear Mr. Editor, . heS;; A short time ago you ran an add in the paper stating-erDlIi stating-erDlIi inferring that I was holding up the completion of the l r 1 Union High School, by not giving a right of way for the le ' extension of Lagoon Street hrough to the school, itch-' You were very badly misinformed as to the true particulars of the situation, tnaria I have offered to give the City a right of-way, provid-e provid-e g in they will agree that when the sewage pipe is put in ltfrt- jt "will be large enough to accommodate all the public in-stead in-stead of just the Union High School, which is their in- f' ''"''The City has intimated that they are only going to put of t, in the sewer line IV2 feet under the ground and only for tafo the use of the school, which, according to the opinion of 16 fr the State Board of Health, would be a very unwise thing tei to do. It is my opinion that the City of Roosevelt should :3ty" wake up and look into the future a little ways and prepare (or the influx of people that is coming to the Basin. Some ol our sewer lines have been put in the ground so shallow that a lot of places never can hook on to it without a vast amount of expense. I think an ounce of prevention S is worth a pound of cure any day. Could we at the present time accommodate 250 fam-5S fam-5S ilies should they come in on us? . I am hoping' we can work thi3 situation out for the mutual benefit of the entire community. What would be nicer than having a beautiful, quiet 1 jjj residential district adjoining our beautiful, new Union High School. (Signed) Verlen V. Labrum v E v ' r; COMMUNITY COOPERATION Duchesne county's two newspapers urges all citizens as of the county to adopt an intelligent plan of community cola co-la operation. This does not involve the careless boosting that I ignores facts or the degenerating pessimism that depreciates J everything. It merely requires that its citizens should re-I re-I aUze that the combined efforts of all neighbors and f rien-ls will definitely improve ach tcwn in the county. I One of the necessities is a sound business structure upon 1 itich to rest other ornaments. The trade-at-home policy, as I (ten outlined in this newspaper, is a cardinal principle of (immunity loyalty. It applies to sellers as well as to buyers buy-ers and involves the use of money for improving our communities com-munities by spending it within municipal limits. v E v TOO MANY MIDGETS Shocking disclosures of scandal in high places is evidence evi-dence that mental and moral midgets are today playing havoc with our country's political and economic foundation. Integrity in government is one of the great issues confronting con-fronting Americans. . , must have more public officials in Washington will dignity and self-restraint, men of deep moral con-virtion con-virtion who understand the obligations of public office, wh men must develop and extend the beachhead of Constitutional Con-stitutional American government, and set the highest possible pos-sible standards of honor and probity in the public service. v E v The Department of Agriculture is definitely expected j shut down on distilling for several months. This is for l"e Purpose of saving grain. v E v 'Science has found no way to determine or distin- Suish who or what sort of a drinker may or may not belt be-lt come an alcoholic." Dr. E. M.
