Miss Catherine Sedgwick county title over twelve other contestants at the County Fair held in Duchesne on August 24. Participating1 in the final contest con-test in addition to Miss Wogec were Renee Labrum, Joyce Jordan Jor-dan and Yvonne Fretwell, of Roosevelt; Carmalita Robbins, now Mrs. Mac Zimmerman; Bonnie Bon-nie Allred, now Mrs. Les P. Lowrey, and Dixie White, of Duchesne; Sherry Dennis, Lu-Dean Lu-Dean Anderson and Helene Hemphill, of Myton; Gay Wag-i Wag-i staff, of Tabiona; D a r 1 e n e Rhodes, of Hanna; Marilyn Zir-I Zir-I ker. of Arcadia. Attendants to Miss Wogec were Joyce Jordan, of Roosevelt, and Bonnie All-red, All-red, of Duchesne. All girls were required to display some form of talent ' such as singing, playing a mus- ical instrument, dancing or dramatic dra-matic reading. Other requirements require-ments included parading across 'the stage in a formal gown and I in a bathing suit. Out-of-county judges were called in to score the contestants on poise, personality, person-ality, intelligence, charm and beauty of face and figure. Contestants Con-testants were required to be unmarried girls between the ages of 18 and 28, and of good character. Miss Wogec, a brown-eyed brunette beauty with a glorious voice, made an excellent impression impres-sion for the county at the State Fair in Salt Lake City. She was among the ten finalists in the Miss Utah contest and received FFA Sweetheart :. . v.. . .. w- MISS MARILYN ZIRKER. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Zirker of Arcadia, was chosen FFA Sweetheart by the chapter chap-ter at the Roosevelt High School in April. Minnie Lue Jessen reigned as FFA Sweetheart Sweet-heart at Aliamont. great applause from judges and audience for her singing |
