' Scouter Will Show Jamboree Films At Reunion & Court Of Honor; Clubs Honor Veek With Programs Boy Scffut Week in the Roos-f evelt District is being appropriately appro-priately observed with various activities having been arranged to honor the boys and their leaders, Who are building America for tomorrow through the great Scouting program. Four business establishments in the city of Roosevelt have permitted use of their windows for displays. According to Russell Rus-sell Robison, district chairman, displays will be found as follows: fol-lows: Uintah Power & Light Co., Moffat ward troop; Modern Drug Co., Roosevelt Second ward troop; Ashton's Randlett troop; and J. C. Penney Co., Roosevelt ward Guide patrol. Displays will be cited and awards given the Scout troops and Guide patrols who have participated in this phase of the observance. The public is urged to view the windows to get a better idea of what is being done. " A climax to the events of the week will take place tonight, Thursday at the Roosevelt stake house, where a Jamboree Reunion Re-union and Court of Honor will convene at 8 p.m. In charge of this activity will be Hollis G. Hullinger, Roosevelt stake president, pres-ident, and Jamboree Scoutmaster Scoutmas-ter last summer at the national Jamboree in Los Angeles. A featured visitor will be Floyd Loveridge, chief Scout executive of the National Parks Council. He will show films of the national Jamboree following the presentation of advancement awards to Scouts and Scouters in the district. Another feature will be the selection of a "Scoutmaster of the year," from the district. He will be announced announ-ced and cited. At their regular weekly meeting meet-ing last night, the Kiwanis club held a father and son dinner with Scouting being the basis of the program. Tonight at the regular Lions meeting Chief Loveridge will be the special speaker. Boy Scouts have made their presence known by wearing their uniforms during the week. This has added much to the spirit and observance of Boy Scout Week. |
