Show P-TA Honors Past Leaders In Founders Day Program The Roosevelt Parent-Teacher-Association observed Founders' Day last Thursday evening at the Elementary School, by hon- oring past presidents and presenting pre-senting a Founders' Day skit. Mrs. Mary Orser, wso served as P-TA president in 1927, and who is nearly 91 years old, was present, and as she related brief remarks about P-TA, received long applause from the audience. aud-ience. Ten of the twelve past presidents still residing in the community were present, including in-cluding the following: Mrs. Orser, Or-ser, Mrs. C. L. Ashton, Mrs. Horace Allred, Mrs. Louie Galloway.. Gal-loway.. Mrs. Paul Wilkins, Mrs. Ervin Wardle Mrs. George Stewart, Mrs. Gilbert McKenna, Mrs. Ned Bellon and Mrs. Cliff Memmott. Each told of past P-TA experiences and was presented pre-sented with a rose from the j P-TA. ' To commence the meeting which was presided over by President Bennie Schmiett, the colors were presented by four Boy Scouts, Charles Timothy, Dee Peterson, Allan Rowley and Burke Eldredge, all of Troop 250- Community singing was led by Mrs. David Watkins. ' A saxophone solo was played by Garth Tietjen and vocal solos so-los were sung by Miss Esther Wogec, with Mrs. Schmiett as accompanist. A skit entitled, "Light For Tomorrow," was presented by the following cast: Mrs. E. J. Nixon as the Parent; Mrs. Smith Johnson, teacher; Kenneth Ken-neth Aycock, Community; and Ann Murphy, Joyce Beaird, Bruce Mitchell, Steven Pitt and Pam Harmston, as the children. Mrs. Memmott, regional director, di-rector, was in charge of the Founders' Day program, assisted by the program chairman, Il'rs. Fran Harrison. Attendance banner at the Elementary El-ementary School went to Mrs. Harrison's first grade, and attendance at-tendance honors at the Jr. High School went to Mrs. L. F. Hutchings' home room. Mrs Harrison announced that plans are being made for a BYU program for March. |
